TextBundles made easy

Bindle Writer

Markdown that packs its own bags.

Bindle Writer is built around TextBundles: your Markdown, its images and files, and its metadata, all in one package. Write, attach, and organize everything in one place, and it all travels together.

Everything in one bundle

A TextBundle is a package that holds your Markdown, its images and files, and a metadata file. Bindle Writer lets you work with every part of it: the text, the assets, and the metadata.

  • Find your writing rhythm

Write in a responsive Markdown editor with syntax highlighting, familiar formatting shortcuts, search, and spell checking.

  • Bring your images along

Rename an asset and every reference to it updates automatically. Drag images and files into your bundle, insert an image right at the cursor, spot unused files at a glance, and preview images in the inspector.

  • Make yourself at home

Choose Classic, Ocean, or Forest, then make the editor your own with custom colors, text sizes, fonts, and line height. Your open documents update as you fine-tune your theme.

  • Keep the details close

Edit TextBundle metadata in a friendly form, add your own custom keys, or open the JSON editor with validation as you type. Your writing’s extra context lives right beside it.

  • Give every draft a place

Open a folder to browse its TextBundles, including nested folders, in the sidebar. Create a new document or move an old one to the Trash without leaving your workspace.

  • Take it to the Terminal

Install the bindlewriter command from Settings to create TextBundles and read or change their metadata from the command line. Great for automation, publishing pipelines, and batch jobs.
